Yesterday

We had a long day driving to the top of a giant mountain to meet with over 30 pastors for a day of pastor training. It was a beautiful jungle like area that produces coffee. Our Toyota bus struggled to make it up the small switchback dirt road and we had a few scares hugging the narrow path. Our way home got real exciting as some juveniles ignited a fire in the middle of the road to get traffic to slow down so they could throw rocks at the vehicles. We pulled into a bank parking lot where the police watch the whole thing from the safety of the bank lobby. We ended up taking a detour through some dark, crowded side streets that seemed scarier than the main road. We got back to the hotel and walked to the open air restaurant next door where I had fish soup and chicken and rice.
